I am very pleased to bring you some positive news in these uneasy times. I firmly believe that there will be more such news.
In spite of the unpleasant situation we face every day, or maybe thanks to it, we started preparing for the launch of the new hall operation. The motivation was clear – to keep the required production capacity despite the unfavourable situation.
We use modern technology, workstation equipment and modern work methods in our new hall as a key to achieve the objective. We aim at increasing efficiency and performance with a significantly lower need for human resources.
During the two weeks since the acceptance of the new hall, we managed to gradually transfer and complete the equipment of all assembly workstations, offices and facilities for the workers, to supply the individual workstations with material, to train employees in new technologies and methods of work, all of that while maintaining regular operation.
Everything we had been preparing for in more than a year and a half is becoming reality. I am pleased to inform you that the operation of the new assembly hall, and I dare to say also a new chapter in the BEDNAR history, was officially launched on 30 March. However, our work is far from done yet. The new hall is designed to allow for a higher level of automation in the future. We will continue fulfilling our tasks and other visions related to increasing efficiency, improving organization and installing new technologies.
The hall is designed as two-storey (5,000 m2/storey) with a clear division of tasks. All the pre-assembly operations, i.e., the assembly of subassemblies, take place on the top floor. The subassemblies are then completed on the ground floor – it includes the final assembly of the machine, final inspection and palletization, if required.
There are 29 workstations concentrated in 5 lines with the same total number of cranes of various load capacity on both storeys.
Larger parts that do not go through the paint shop are delivered using two vertical platforms with a load capacity of 8 tonnes and dimensions of 3.75 × 7.5 m. They overcome a height of 8.7 metres. They are also used for sublevel transport of prefabricated subassemblies from the top floor to the main lines on the ground floor.
The dispatching capacity used to be one of the bottleneck areas we had to deal with especially in the time of shipping machines for spring operations.
However, much more has been happening and I am pleased to inform you that we also started working on the reconstruction of Hall A on 6 April, where a new semiautomatic warehouse will be erected in three months.
We will inform you of the progress of the construction works and other details in the following press release.
